03/06/2008 - The Virgin Birth
"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." (Matthew 1:23)
One of the many incredible aspects in the life of Jesus Christ was His virgin birth. If Jesus had been born of a man and woman, He would have inherited our sinful nature. Incredibly, He was conceived miraculously by the Holy Spirit, so He was born holy and without sin. Throughout the thirty three years He spent on earth, this would not change. Jesus would die as miraculously as He was born - sinless. The holy and righteous Lamb of God would give up His life to take our place and die for our sins. Without sin, Jesus defeated what all of us will one day face - death. What a King, what a Saviour.
"Thank you Father for sending your Son. Lord help us to understand and meditate on the incredible act of love demonstrated by Jesus. I ask this in His Name. Amen."
