"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (John 8:36)
How many years did I spend trying to be a good person? How many years did I spend trying to please God through following rules? The whole time I never truly saw the lost condition I was in, neither did I see what God had done to rescue me.
Thankfully, God never wanted this from me, He wanted a relationship through His Son.
True freedom came in Jesus Christ, who makes His dwelling in those who believe.
"Lord, I thank You for the gift of eternal life You've given me. Thank You that You were patient with me through all my years I never knew You. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen."
