18/11/2007 - To Know or Not to Know
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13)
Imagine if God knew of our guilt and hopeless situation, then asked that we spend our lives attempting to please Him through religion and good deeds. Not only would it be completely unjust but we'd be left to wonder if we were ever right with God? I don't know about you, but I don't want to serve that god. Thankfully, that is not our true God. He knows our situation, knows He has to punish us, yet Jesus has stepped in and paid our fine. In Christ, we can know now that we have been forgiven and have eternal life.
"Thank you Lord that You love us enough that we can know You now and if we are in Christ, there is no more guessing about our eternal home. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen."
