20/10/2007 - The Dilemma
"He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he."
(Deuteronomy 32:4)
It was a dilemma. God has great love for man whom was created in His Image yet had become fallen and separated because of sin. In His holiness, God could not let sin go unpunished but a solution was planned which would satisfy His justice. Jesus Christ came into the world and took our punishment on Himself. God's justice was satisfied and His love for us, demonstrated. May the cross always be a sobering reminder of the seriousness of sin and the longsuffering love God has shown us once and for all.
"Our Father in Heaven, thank you for the cross. Thank you that this dilemma was not too great for you to solve. Thank you for showing us a love we sometimes cannot fully understand. Thank you for the Saviour, Jesus Christ. In His Name I pray. Amen."
