"And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." (John 6:35)
You see it everywhere, mankind is never satisfied. Ever notice how professional sports teams fight it out year after year to lift a trophy over their head, only to have to do it again next year? Mankind is always trying to fill this hunger. Whether people look to another person, a material possession, worldly fame or money. Satisfaction is always one step away but it never comes. That void is there because of our sinful separation from God. Don't look to the world to fill this void, look to the bread of life, Jesus Christ. In Him alone will you find peace with God, eternal life and the forgiveness of sins.
"Father, help us to seek after that which is above and not be found longing in the unsatisfying things below. I ask this in Jesus' Name. Amen."
