The Cure For Worry

"Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. " (Matthew 6:25-34)

In the Bible, God has warned us not to trust in uncertain riches. For many, a financial crisis can bring great anxiety concerning the future.

In the midst of economic turmoil, the Scripture above proclaims a peace with God that passes understanding. In the Bible, fear first appears after Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden. Before this event, the Bible describes mankind living in sinless fellowship with God. However, the fall severed this relationship and caused spiritual death to mankind.

"And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden." (Genesis 3:8)

This same spirit of fear remains today but thankfully, God has a solution.

His Son.

In Christ, God restores our fellowship to Himself and we're born again by the Holy Spirit. Whether times are good or bad, stormy or calm, rich or poor, it is in Jesus where we find the peace of God which passes understanding.

He is at hand.
